I am a Fine Artist and was a member at Harrington Mill Studios in Long Eaton for about 15 years. This was a vibrant artists community of about 18 artists run by Jackie Berridge and we participated in exhibitions abroad in Singapore, Athens, France. At the studios closure in 2018, we set up a small group of 5 artists from these studios and named it Edge Studios. This is also on Leopold Street, Long Eaton.
My photography and digital artworks are particularly influenced by the patterns found in industry/buildings/ nature and urban environments. I look out for the accidental patterns that humans or nature have formed through different processes, intended, accidental, compiled or evolved. These forms and patterns often influence my paintings. I am also passionate about colour and how it influences our perception of familiar everyday items especially when images become exposed to contradictions to their natural hues and tones.
My paintings are predominently abstract expressionist is style but I also enjoy themed based work by integrating abstraction with collage and mixed media. My work is quite diverse and I enjoy creating with lots of different mediums. I use my studio space to focus particularly on painting and printing.
I have a small garden workshop which is more for other creative mediums such as quirky wood sculptures, jewellery making and ceramics.
